The dates of the 2027 click day are already official: the Prime Ministerial Decree (DPCM) of 2 October 2025 sets them for all three years, 2026, 2027 and 2028. It starts on 12 January 2027 with seasonal agricultural work and ends on 18 February 2027 with family care work. What has not yet been published as of 1 October 2026 is the circular with the dates for pre-filling applications.

In brief

  • The decreto flussi 2026-2028 provides for 165,850 entries for 2027 (Ministry of the Interior).
  • 2027 click days, always from 9:00 a.m.: 12 January (seasonal agriculture), 9 February (seasonal tourism), 16 February (non-seasonal work), 18 February (family care).
  • The application is made by the employer in Italy, not by the worker.
  • The 2027 pre-filling dates have not yet been published.
  • Being prepared now matters more than how fast you click.

What is the decreto flussi 2026-2028?

The decreto flussi (the “flows decree”) is the measure by which the Government decides how many citizens of non-European countries can enter Italy to work. This time the decree covers three years. It is the DPCM of 2 October 2025, published in the Official Gazette (Gazzetta Ufficiale) on 15 October 2025.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, a total of 497,550 entries are planned over the three years:

Year Entries planned
2026 164,850
2027 165,850
2028 166,850

Quotas are divided by type of work: seasonal (agriculture and tourism), non-seasonal in various sectors, family care, and a small quota for self-employment.

What are the 2027 click day dates?

The Prefecture of Perugia reports the text of the decree: applications are sent “from 9:00 a.m.” on these dates “of the reference year”. So for 2027:

  1. 12 January 2027 – seasonal work in agriculture
  2. 9 February 2027 – seasonal work in tourism
  3. 16 February 2027 – non-seasonal employed work in various sectors
  4. 18 February 2027 – non-seasonal work in family care (domestic workers, carers)

Applications can be sent until 31 December 2027, but only while quotas are still available. In past years the quotas of many sectors ran out very quickly. This is why being prepared for the click day gives you a real advantage.

When does pre-filling open for 2027?

We need to be clear here: the circular with the pre-filling dates for 2027 has not been published at the moment. The dates are announced by the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Labour in a circular.

As a reference, for the 2026 quotas pre-filling was open from 9:00 a.m. on 23 October to 8:00 p.m. on 7 December 2025 (Ministry of the Interior). We do not know whether the 2026 dates will be similar. Do not trust anyone who gives you an exact date without naming the official circular.

Why is pre-filling important? Because on click day you can send only applications already filled in and saved beforehand on the ALI Portal. If you do not pre-fill, you cannot do anything on click day.

Who submits the application: me or the employer?

The work permit clearance (nulla osta al lavoro) application is submitted by the employer who is in Italy. They log in to the Ministry of the Interior’s ALI Portal with SPID or CIE (Italian digital identity).

Many people write to us from Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Pakistan or Bangladesh and ask: “Can I do the click day myself?”. The answer is no. A worker living abroad cannot apply for the nulla osta alone. You need a company or a family in Italy that really wants to hire you.

The worker must give the employer their details and a copy of their passport. After the nulla osta, the worker applies for a work visa at the Italian consulate in their country.

What happens after the click day?

In simple terms, the process is this:

  1. The employer sends the application on the click day.
  2. The Immigration One-Stop Shop (Sportello Unico per l’Immigrazione) of the Prefecture checks the application and, if everything is in order and there is quota, issues the nulla osta.
  3. The worker applies for the visa at the Italian consulate.
  4. Once in Italy, the worker signs the stay contract (contratto di soggiorno) at the Sportello Unico.
  5. Then they apply for the residence permit for work (permesso di soggiorno per lavoro).

Each step has its own timing and documents. A mistake at the beginning, for example a wrong detail in the form, can block everything later.

How can I prepare now, before the circular?

Even without the pre-filling dates, you can already start working. Here is a practical list:

  1. The employer checks that their SPID or CIE works and that they have access to the ALI Portal.
  2. The employer prepares the company’s or family’s details and checks they can afford the hiring.
  3. The worker checks that their passport is valid and that their details are written correctly (first name, surname, date of birth).
  4. Together, you decide which sector and which contract the hiring will be under: click day dates change depending on the sector.
  5. Keep an eye on the official sites: interno.gov.it, lavoro.gov.it and integrazionemigranti.gov.it.

One important piece of advice: nobody can sell you a place in the decreto flussi. The nulla osta cannot be bought. If someone asks you for money for a “contract” with a company you do not know, stop and ask for advice.

Is the decreto flussi the only way to come to work in Italy?

No, but it is the main route for many workers. There are also some out-of-quota entries, set by law for particular cases. If you already have a residence permit in Italy, your case may instead be about converting your permit and not the click day.

For the full route see our page on the decreto flussi and the one on first entry into Italy.

Do you need help with the 2027 decreto flussi?

The click day cannot be improvised. If you are an employer who wants to hire, or a worker abroad who already has an offer, we can check the situation together before pre-filling opens. We cannot promise the result, because it depends on the quotas and on the Prefecture, but we can help you avoid mistakes that make you lose the application.
